Flower of the Day: Sunflower

I choose sunflowers today because in the Northeast we sure could use some sunshine.  Its been raining and dreary for days, and more days to come.

Sunflowers are available year round, and last about 7-10 days. They are a popular garden flower that can be planted right from seeds.

A single stem long petaled daisy like flower 3-8 inches in diameter.  They are normally packed in either 5 or 10 stem bunches.

Meaning: power, adorations, devotion, you are splendid, homage

This flower can be dried and is NOT fragrant.

Availble in yellow, brown bicolor and sometimes dyed.
